June 1, 2013 is the new deadline for submitting the annual groundwater production report for calendar year 2012 to the district.  The deadline was extended by a rule amendment approved Feb. 19 by the HPWD Board of DIrectors.

The map.hpwd.com web site is designed to assist groundwater producers in entering information as required by the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1.

The steps include:

  1. Drawing the area or areas of contiguous acres.
  2. Adding water meters or alternative metering methods, such as an electric meter, natural gas meter, or nozzle package on a pivot.
  3. Associating meters with water wells.
  4. Adding meter readings to establish a beginning and ending point.
  5. Also, in the process, any water wells that have not been entered in the database can be identified.

With the above information, the web site will be able to calculate the annual water usage for each contiguous acre area.
