Ogallala aquifer display Information/Education
The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District began its public information/education program in 1954.

Since that time, numerous activities have been added to educate the public about the importance of water and water conservation.

Bushland students examine a "well" in a model aquifer School Water Conservation Education Program
The goal of this program is to educate students about the role of water in their daily lives and how they can conserve this precious resource.

 

 

Water IQ Water IQ (sm) Public Awareness Program
 Water IQ (sm) is a licensed service mark of the Texas Water Development Board in Austin.

The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1 and the City of Lubbock Water Utilities launched the Water IQ (sm) program with a Sept. 8, 2007 press conference. We invite you to click on the above link to visit the Water IQ (sm) web site!
